Are you looking for a last minute cookie for your get together this weekend? Have we got a goodie for you!! These chewy chocolate orange cookies will WOW all your friends and family.

Santa would love these beside the fireplace as he makes his rounds on Sunday. Add a nice glass of milk and he’ll raid your cookie jar too looking for more. He might even leave you a few extra gifts. Santa is easily swayed with yummy treats you know.

Make a double batch and stick some in the freezer for your New Year’s Eve party. What a great way to ring in the new year. I think they would pair well with a cocktail. Try one with a White Russian or Mudslide. Yum!

Chocolate Orange Cookies

Make these chewy chocolate orange cookies for your gatherings this weekend. Your guests will be so impressed

Equipment

  • Pizza Peel

Ingredients
  

  • 2 sticks room temperature Butter
  • ¾ Cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • ¾ Cup White Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 ½ t Vanilla
  • Zest of one Large Orange
  • 2 ¼ Cup Flour
  • ¼ Cup Cocoa Powder
  • 1 ½ t Baking Soda
  • 1 t Salt
  • 1 Cup Dark Chocolate Chips

Instructions
 

  • In a the bowl of your stand mixer cream together the butter and sugars until well combined.
  • Add eggs, vanilla, and zest.
  • Then add in the remaining ingredients and mix until all are well combined.
  • Refrigerate cookies for one hour before baking.
  • Using a spoon or disher, shape the dough into cookies and place on a prepared cookie sheet.
  • Bake for 9 minutes turning them half way through.
  • Remove from oven and allow to rest on cooling rack.

Notes:
 
These cookies remain chewy even when they are fully cooked. 
 
If you like your cookies to spread out more and be a larger shape then skip the refrigeration. If you like them to stay a little smaller and rise more, make sure to refrigerate.
